๐Ÿ’ณ Why does Worry-Free Delivery require a payment method?

Overview

Worry-Free Delivery is a service jointly provided by ParcelPanel and a licensed U.S. insurer. The insurer is responsible for charging the protection fee, providing coverage, and processing claimsโ€”so you donโ€™t have to worry about handling insurance-related issues manually.

For Merchants: Worry-Free Delivery is entirely free for you as a merchant.

Customers can add protection during checkout, with the premiums included in their payment. These premiums are added to your Shopify payouts and transferred weekly from your card by the insurer, while keeping your earned commissions.

๐Ÿ’ก In short: You first receive the full protection fees through Shopify. The insurer then withdraws 85% weekly from your card, leaving you with a 15% commission on each premium.

ParcelPanel subscriptions are charged through Shopify. However, Worry-Free Delivery is handled separately via Stripe by the insurer, and your linked debit/credit card will only be used for Worry-Free Delivery charges. Your ParcelPanel subscription charges will never be processed via this added Debit/Credit card.

You can view weekly transfer summaries and detailed invoices in your ParcelPanel dashboard.
Navigate to the Protection > Bills section to check:

  • The total premium collected for the week
  • The billing details for each billing cycle
  • A downloadable invoice from the insurer
